NAHC has a number of resources for cooperative boards of directors.
The Cooperative Housing Bulletin, published six times a year, and the annual Cooperative Housing Journal contain articles on numerous issues related to cooperative housing governance and operations. We also have a number of
other publications helpful to board members, such as our Professional Directory, a listing of contact information for NAHC professional members, such as property managers, CPAs, attorneys, and consultants that work with housing co-ops.
The NAHC annual conference, held each fall, includes over
60 workshops on a wide range of topics of value to cooperative board members. Plus, attending the conference gives you a chance to network with over 600 board members from housing co-ops throughout the nation as well as professionals that work with housing co-ops.
NAHC's government relations program tracks legislation going through the U.S. Congress in order to look out for the interests of housing co-ops. We include regular updates of our work in the
Cooperative Housing Bulletin.
NAHC is also your resource for questions about anything that relates to your job as a cooperative housing board member. Call NAHC, and we'll do our best to help you. NAHC can also provide custom training to cooperative boards for a fee.
Most co-ops also belong to a local or regional association of co-ops that provides additional networking opportunities and knowledge of local law and regulations pertaining to co-ops.
This archived list of the Issues and Answers from
the Cooperative Housing Bulletin gives helpful information to some of the
common issues co-op housing boards of directors are faced with.
