NAHC Membership Benefits and Services

Networking
NAHC provides access to a network of housing cooperatives, cooperative housing associations, and professionals. Co-ops and professionals receive an annual NAHC Directory of Professional Members.

Technical Assistance
We offer technical assistance to members on the development and operation of housing cooperatives. In-depth consulting services can be arranged for a fee.

Representation
Our government relations program represents housing cooperatives on issues of mutual concern before Congress and federal agencies, such as HUD, FCC, EPA, and others. We monitor issues and keep our members up-to-date on the latest legislation, regulations, and issues that involve housing cooperatives.

Information
The Cooperative Housing Bulletin, our bimonthly newsletter, contains timely articles and news items. The annual Cooperative Housing Journal includes articles of lasting value. Publications on various aspects of housing cooperative operations and development are also available.

Education
The NAHC Annual Conference is our premier educational event. Held every October, the three-day conference offers over 50 workshops on a wide range of topics. The Young Cooperators Program is held in conjunction with the annual conference. In addition, NAHC sponsors the Registered Cooperative Manager Program (RCM), a designation program exclusively for cooperative housing managers. The RCM Board of Governors has prepared a Code of Ethical Conduct for cooperative site managers. Click here for the current RCMs, application and instructions. We also offer custom training programs for your cooperative's needs.

Purchase Discounts
Through NAHC's arrangement with GE/Hotpoint, NAHC members are eligible to receive discounts on major appliances, such as stoves, refrigerators, and washers and dryers.

One member.one.vote.one domain.  NAHC's members can benefit from Dotcoop since it is available only to cooperative and credit union members.  It gives your cooperative a better chance of registering all the memorable, meaningful names you wanted, but couldn't get under other domains. For more information click the dotcoop logo.

For more information about any of these services, contact NAHC. If you would like to become a NAHC member, please print and complete the membership application form.
